pxe booting arcade mamed arcade cabs?
« on: December 24, 2007, 05:58:42 am »
I was just thinking that if I make more then one, it would make sense to boot them all from the same image vs maintaining them all seperately.

At the moment I have a user on my domain at home for the arcade cabinet which autostarts a front end (cant remember which one at the moment) - in windows xp. All the roms are on a network share, the drive in it is a crappy old 10 gig that came from an xbox. This way I can login on another computer and get the same menu and stuff easily (just use the arcade username and it all autolaunches)

But I was thinking of moving it to linux instead, because, well thats just cooler. With that comes the idea of network booting so I can just chuck in a bootable motherboard and be done with it. Anyone tried this?
