G07 capkit questions
« on: December 09, 2007, 05:51:48 pm »
Just received a G07 cap-kit (and flyback) from Bob Roberts. All values are OK, except for the positions C403/C517/C701. The listed (and mounted original) values are 100uF/25V. However, I've used all the caps, and there are only three caps left all valued 1000uF/25V.

I know it (often) doesn't hurt to increase capacity, but in the mentioned positions, could I use the 1000uF's, or is this an "upgrade/mod" ?

Sounds like one of Bob's assistants accidently made a mistake in values in stocking your kit. I'd email him and tell him what happened.

Yeah, I thought so. I mailed Bob about it. I already thought that 10x the original value would be a bit too much off :D

He just dropped me a mail to confirm my findings. I'm sure he'll correct the mistake.

I received a very long e-mail from Bob, man does he take his work seriously ! He , his wife and his harness-maker went over this for four hours.....  :o

Anyway, they don't have a clue how this could have happened, as he hasn't have these brand of that value caps for 2 years, and still he said it was a new kit because they changed labels not too long ago.

Anyway, he immeditaly sent me the correct caps after I had mailed him two pictures of the caps and the bag they were in .... great service, Bob's great :) :applaud:
