Monitor Question for cocktail kit
« on: December 04, 2007, 10:35:25 am »
I am looking at this monitor http://www.happcontrols.com/monitors/491337vp2lg.htm for the kit im ordering from arcadedepot and have a couple of questions.

Since this one is vga/svga can I plug in a standard vga cable to it and connect it to a computer, or will I need something else?

Will this be a good choice for vertical only games in the cocktail?

should just plug and play, standard vga will suffice
its gonna be a big cocktail cab though with a 19" monitor,it that the size suggested by arcadedepot and also how do you mount the monitor?
i have seen early versions of this a few years back in the u.k and they used a bulk standard pc monitor

Yeah from what I've gather from talking to him and looking at the examples a 19 inch monitor is what will fit.

The mounting is going to be a pain, I'm sure I'll have to rig something up for that.  I'll probably mount it to the side that opens up with the top like the picture below:

Hi new user.  I'm also buying a cocktail cabinet from arcadedepot, and I was looking at this model to buy as well.  Then I ran accross some negative posts about Happs and WG monitors.  Something along the lines of them being prone to blow out.  Should I steer clear of these brands?  Some people mentioned Billabs and Betson as good alternatives, can anyone attest to them?

thats gonna be alot of weight to put on that panel,i would ask for pics showing previous finished cabs and the monitor mounting options
if you mounted a monitor on that panel and it dropped your cab would fall apart also i would imagine that panel is used to mount the pc/psu and control interface as you would need to access these items easily for service and repair
