AtomicFE & vista 64 bit issues

I have been finishing up setting up mame on a vista 64 bit, & atomicfe appears to have a issue with vista, the TSS codec that atomicfe has not had a update since june of 2005.  I did some research & found this codec does not work for vista, I used a vista codec pack as a workaround, but the starting theme is still a bit slow & the colors are off but it works.  As anyone else encountered this or is there a patch I am missing

I converted the TSS encoded video to Xvid, which is the preferred codec for Atomic. Incidentally, that also reduced the video to 1/5th the original size...
