Can anyone vouch for the VisionPro 19"
« on: November 25, 2007, 04:37:08 pm »
I see this same dealer with these cheap-priced monitors on eBay all the time and I need 2 monitors:

Has anyone bought one or had any problems with them. At 169.00 it seems like a great deal.

I bought one from him about a year ago for my Defender. It works great, and it was delivered to Ohio from Florida in 3 days.

He says no Iso Transformers is required for it....does that sound right? I thought that you never-ever go without an ISO Trans in a cab. I would probably have to convert to a DC PS.

No isolation is correct for this monitor. You can plug it into the wall socket if you wish, I wired mine to the AC in the cab.

More modern monitors often don't require an isolation transformer.

A friend has one of these in a converted SFII (to Neo-Geo).  Picture quality is excellent, though we had some weird adjustment issues in terms of horizontal size (could need the width coil tweaked, remote couldn't get things fully correct).  Happ resells Tovis as their VisionPro line, so if you want reviews, that may help you locate something.

And yes, it's not unusual for modern monitors to have no need for iso transformers.  SMPSs are wonderful things...

At 169.00 it seems like a great deal.

If you are patient, these sometimes go on sale directly from Happ for cheaper.  They were on sale this last summer for $135.00 (qty 1).
