The last K8000 I messed with we had to order the caps individually....but that was a long time ago.

You might try here:

Zanen Electronics
46 Parklane Drive
Ransom Canyon, TX  79366

Tel: 888-449-2636
E-mail: zanenelectronics@aol.com
http://randyfromm.com/amusements/yellowpages/zanen/

They didn't have one listed, but they might be able to put one together.
I had a list of caps around here somewhere for that one..... will have to look.

Check with Bob Roberts. He might have one now for the k8000 series you have. Otherwise you're going to have to buy caps individually and make up your own kit.

Thanks for the info guys.  I was sort of afraid it would be a piece by piece thing, since I rarely see any mention of the WG8000.  What a P.O.S. chassis, the location numbers are on the top only (most of them obscured by other parts), and no polarity indicators.  Thanks, WG.

Contacted Bob Roberts, no kit available, and no parts list.  Anyone have a list of caps for this thing?  And a parts diagram would be wonderful.  Thanks

I dug out the list I had from way back, but it seems wrong and with some missing information for some reason. (no idea why)

But I do have a schematic I could compare it all to and make a new list.
Might take me a bit to do, but wouldn't be a problem since it could be of use to someone else down the road.
And I still have a K8000 chassis laying around. (mostly unpopulated though)

Unless Ken, Peale, Grantspain or someone has one made up already......

What is the Pxxx number on your main chassis so that I can make certain I have the right schematic and all that?

I have:
Main chassis - P648
Neckboard - P583
Aux Power Supply - P649

There is virtually no information available on the k8000. It's another one in a long line of mistakes that Wells-Gardner would like to forget.

However, I think Randy Fromm has some info or schematics for it if you'll email him.

Thanks again, guys.  Kevin, I got the pages you uploaded.  I intend to remove the caps and make a list of them tomorrow, will post that along with the chassis numbers.

Cool....

Be sure to note the Pxxx number from your chassis and neckboard as well.
(unless that's what you meant by chassis numbers also)
I'd be curious to find out if any of them have differences amongst the K8000 versions.

OK folks, here's what I found in the one I'm working on.  I must agree with Ken on the 8000, what a piece of junk.  Hope this might be helpful to anyone interested.

WG-19K8304  Board numbers and capacitor list

Neck board  85X0298A     P583
Remote board  85X0396-001     P737
Power supply  85X0308F     can't see a P#
Main chassis  85X0297B     P656

First, a word of caution.  The cap location numbers are only on the top side of the board, and polarity is NOT marked.  The numbers are hard to read and looking at what appears to be the ground trace is misleading.  If you are recapping one of these, note orientation and location carefully before removing the parts.  The location I have as 613 might be 618 instead, it’s impossible to tell in my case.

Regular electrolytic caps:

Neck board
C512  47@100V

Main chassis
C150  470@35V
C152  47@160V
C201  470@16V
C211  22@25V
C225  100@16V
C604  100@63V
C610  10@25V
C612  2200@50V
C615  2200@35V
C616  2200@35V
C706  1@50V
C713  470@16V
C714  4.7@35V
C724  47@25V
C727  220@10V
C730  220@63V
C800  22@160V
C801  100@16V
C205, 208, 213    10@25V   BP
C613  1@100V  BP
C728  10@25  BP

H.O.T.     C3686   NTE #2324

This information needs to get put in the monitor FAQ for everyone's reference. Wouldn't hurt to send a copy to Bob Roberts too.

One more question about this thing.  I started to order caps piecemeal from Mouser's website, and find a lot of what I presume should be common ordinary electrolytic caps are only available as "low impedance", and most of these have to be back ordered.  Is there a problem with the website, or am I missing something?

Sounds like it's end-of-the-year inventory time and they've run their stock down. Happens this same time here at my local electronics parts jobber too. Starting Friday my local parts jobber will be closed for inventory until Wednesday January 2nd. It's possible you might have to wait until after January 1 then make your Mouser order.

When I order from Mouser I buy the "Xicon" brand of capacitors and usually the 85 degree temperature rating is fine for most applications. Some people order the 105 degree temperature rating (more limited stock and priced slightly higher).

Here's the standard Mouser parts numbering system for most Xicon brand capacitors:

Let's say you wanted standard 85 degree temperature rated radial lead electrolytic capacitors. Say you need a 1 uf @ 250 volt cap. The numbering would be like this: 140-XRL250V1.0

"140-" indicates Xicon brand, "XRL" indicates standard temp Xicon with radial leads, "250V" indicates 250 volts rating, "1.0" indicates 1 uf.

Wells Gardner now has zero information or parts for the 19K8304 (K8000 series). The only manual out there is incomplete:

http://arcarc.xmission.com/PDF_Monitors/Wells_Gardener_K8000.pdf

It uses the P737 remote adjustment board (so does the U3000 series).

Zanen Electronics capkit # 210 for the K8000 series (22 capacitors).
