Not sure if this is nationwide, but a visit to Home Depot today netted me a 12 Gallon wet/dry vac (RIGID) for $29. That's really all I need in my shop so it's the perfect size.

How many horsepower? For shop use it should be 4 horse power and up. I base that on nothing but personal opinion.
I really doubt a 12 gallon Rigid Vac will be anything less than 5 hp. Nice find dude.

Yes, it is 5HP and came with a 2nd filter for free. I used it this weekend and it works great.

Just noticed this thread...that is an excellent vac. I've had mine for about 5 years now and have never regretted buying it.
