640x480 won't display in the whole screen
« on: November 21, 2007, 10:20:33 am »
Hi,

I have a AVGA2 card, a nieman 27" multi sync monitor that can do 640x480 and am using Mame32 120.4 or something and have run into an issue. When I try an display a 640x480 game like wayne gretzky's hockey the image shows up in the middle of the screen in a wider apsect ratio and is very small (I'd say 18" diagonal) instead of filling the whole image. Windows and my front end are fine in 640x480 but when I try one of vga res games it does this. Other lower res games are fine too so it is jsut these 640x480 games that have this issue.

Adjusting the H&V size pots does not fix this so it seems like it is an issue with mame32 or something.

I have tried with both "switch resolutions to fit" on and off and when it is off the image shows up HUGE as in 3/4 of it is off my screen.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Zebidee

Some games don't work well with the default screen settings ("Auto").

Try this in Mame32

File -> Properties -> Screen tab ->

At the Screen pull-down list, select "DISPLAY1"
at the View pull-down list, Select "Standard"
