What's the best type of solder to use when resoldering joints and caps on a monitor, or on the other components in the cab in general?THANKS.
kester does a fine job .. though, a bit pricey so, watch for sale pricing...a cheaper alternative is tenma brand ( mcm electronics 800 543-4330 ) it is a good gen purpose solder.
brand names can be of significance i.e. yugo vs lamborgini in solder , rosin formulation and tin/lead ratios cause performance to vary from one brand to another ."el cheapo" solder and a 128+ pin surface mount ic is not a good combination ...
