i have a dual rez 29" nanao monitor in a new astrocity cab being run with an arcadevga and jpac. its in 15Khz mode right now, just wondering if going to 24Khz will work better in this set up while running mame games?

What games are you looking to play?  There are very few games that use medium resolutions (Paperboy comes to mind).  I'd stick with 15khz personally since probably over 90% of games used CGA resolutions.

mostly vert shooters and bubble bobble. i was just wondering if thru the magic of mame it would become a super better resolution somehow even if the orginal game is 15khz.

Well, I actually do use medium resolution for a few vertical shooters (the ones with over 300 horizontal lines like DonPachi).  But if you mainly play those types of games, I would consider mounting your monitor vertically and run at 15khz for maximum authenticity.

You're not going to do any better than the exact resolution and orientation of the originals (15khz/vertical).  The only two vertical EGA games I can even think of are Toobin and APB.
