Hello, I actually tried to hook up the monitor last night and had some issues, I hope you can clarify what I am doing wrong.
I am trying to hook up a U3000 monitor to a computer. The computer has the Arcadevga card from
www.ultimarc.com, and I also have a G-force video card.
I will eventually be using the arcadevga, which will give me a resolution of 640 x 480 which the G-force card will not do, however I am still waiting on a special connector. So in the meantime I am using the G-force card. So the resolution is going to be a bit high (800 x 600 or close to it)
Attached are a couple of pictures I snapped last night. One shows the connector that came with the monitor and the other shows my male connector that is part of the monitor. The way I have this hooked up is as follows, I have the connector seen in the photo spliced together with a VGA cable which will hook into the computer. Red to Red, Green to Green, Blue to Blue, Ground to Ground (black wire), and Composite Sync (white wire) to the vga horizontal and vertical sync. (I twisted both the hor and vert of the vga wire and combined them with the composite sync that goes into the monitor this is where I may have the problem).
When I turn on the monitor and computer the boot screen comes up fine, as does the windows loading. however there is two pictures, one on the left side of the screen and one on the right. When windows goes into the "welcome screen" and the desktop, everything gets scrambled pretty good. Now how much is this related to the Ge-force card that is outputting a higher resolution, and how much is the wiring (more specifically the vert and horiz)?
Take a look at the pics attached and let me know. I really really appreciate your help. Thanks.
