A Great Week for Gamers
« on: November 12, 2007, 01:38:21 am »
I just realized that Super Mario Galaxy, Crysis, and Assasin's Creed are all coming out this week.  Its rare for a truely great game to come out, but three in the same week is just unheard of.

I seriously don't have time for all of this.  I actually wanted Assassin's Creed to get bad reviews but it looks like another amazing game that I'll have to make time for...

Awesome, I was hoping someplace would offer a deal like that.  Thanks for the heads up.

I had the opportunity to buy assassins creed last week.  It was on a stocking cart at best buy unattended, but I held off for some reason.

Kane & Lynch is supposed to be pretty good, also.  And I didn't even realize it, but Rayman RR2 is out this week also.  I'm still way too busy playing the games I have, so I guess I'm not going to be playing any of these for a few months.  Guess I'll get them used on Ebay later on.

Just picked up Mario Galaxy at lunch today.  I'll have to put Halo 3 / GH3 on hold for awhile tonight:)

Well it looks like its sold out at 4 gamestops, toys r us, best buy, target, circuit city and walmart, so I guess I'll be playing TF2 for a few more days.

I really hate how you have to reserve a game if you want to buy it near launch day.

Where in the world do you live?

I only reserve a game when I am interested in a limited edition version of it, or expect that there will be shortages (Rock Band).

I have NEVER not been able to buy a game on launch day or even a couple days later.

Yeah, stores like Gamestop often run out (or they will claim to [I often suspect they just hold extras for the next day so as to try and trick people into thinking they need to pre-order]), but then they are usually small shops, and don't have the real estate to give to mass quantaties, but stores like Best Buy...

I was at Best Buy a little bit ago getting Shrek the 3rd on HD DVD, and they had a ton of copies of SMS.

I called most of the places I mentioned, but used the online "store availability" for a few, which could be wrong.  I've been needing to get a new battery for my phone, so I think I'll head down to best buy and check in person.

Hmm, what is it with this valley? It seems like everything around here is always out of stock long after everyone else has a surplus. I guess that LA suburbs for you.

I just got back from Best Buy and they got their shipment in 5 minutes before I got there, so it turns out that there are still a few Mario Galaxy's around here  :)

Not all stores have that ability. I snagged myself the DVD edition of Star Wars weeks before it was supposed to go on sale.
