Just for the record, the mega-tech and hantarex are working perfectly now thanks to this forum

This concerns my terminator 2, with what used to be a WG K7000. I had two monitor chassis for it, both had catastrophic LOPT failure so I ordered up a lovely new Wei Ya 825H, and it's worked fantastically. It still does infact, but as is the norm random faults popping up all over the cabinet, I just solved the faulty trigger switch and now I hear a sparking noise coming from the monitor - about every second, a low noise almost like a click. The monitor still looks absolutely fine, but I know it's not something I should leave unchecked. What's worrying is, this sound continues for about 14 seconds after power off.

Check the dressing/placement of the wires (yoke, focus, G2 screen, ground, high voltage). Keep the high voltage (red) wire away from chassis, sharp edges, other wires, or any source that may jab, abrade, cut, nick it.

Make sure all frame grounds are good. Be sure the ground strap/spring streched across the back of the tube is tightly touching the tube and properly connected to the neckboard and/or mainboard ground terminals.

Remember this monitor chassis needs an isolation transformer.

Make sure the anode clip under the suction cup is making a good tight connection.

If you have a high voltage probe, measure the high voltage to see if it's a bit on the high side. If it is turn the B+ voltage down a little.

All the connections are good and solid, and I have an iso transformer.

Aftera bit more observation, I noticed the clicking-sparking sound only starts after the machine's been on for a good 4 - 5 minutes, and I may be wrong but I think it's coming from the anode. The sound doesnt correspond with visual artifacts either.

The clip is in good though. The anode hole has some white stuff around it, which I've not seen before.. it was on the cap of the last K7000 chassis I had.

Is this white stuff to blame possibly, or a moisture problem? Strange stuff. The game seems to play perfectly fine regardless as well, is it safe to leave on or could this be damaging?

maybe try cleaning the anode cap and hole with some very weak cleaner,then dry and blow off any contamination
