video card effects on mame
« on: May 08, 2003, 02:02:33 am »
does a better video card have any effect on mame? i'm currently using a radeon 9500 pro with 64 meg .....something. there are some games that are slightly pixelated and slower like UMK3 and some shmups but i assume thats just the rom. i wanted to build a cheaper machine for use inside a cab for mame only, so would i notice any difference if i bought a cheaper video card for it?

I can't tell any difference between different video cards and Mame. None whatsoever. Mame is 2D, and even the cheapest cards excel at 2D.
