Finished my Jukebox.....
« on: November 07, 2007, 05:20:51 pm »
I wanted to build it from Birch plywood and to the same basic design as the Arcade. Then I got to thinking what about lights? So then my basic idea got bigger and bigger!

What I ended up building was more than just a basic Jukebox; my system is powered by a 2000 watt DJ amp which powers two 15" speaker boxes. I went with stand alone speakers as I discovered that when mounting speakers inside my arcade at high power made the cabinet rattle.

The system has its own mixer built into the pull out draw in order to be able to control the volume without having to go though the PC. This turned out to be a great addition because I ended up adding microphones to the system so we could use it as a karaoke system too.

I also mounted four black lights inside one on each side behind the lasers, one above the keyboard draw and one above the rack mounted gear.

As for effects the system has 8 pin spots, 2 lasers and two large type DJ light effects. In order to make the lights look their best I built a smoke machine into the system for added effect.

The smoke machine is mounted in the back of the machine as is piped under the machine and comes out of two ports mounted in the front. The smoke machine is controled via a timer mounted in the pullout draw.

For cooling the system has the same setup as my jukebox it has 4 fans. Two in the base pulling air into the machine and two at the top blowing air out.

Nice project looks well thought out.
But about the stuffed animals? ???

Don't listen to them. I think they are cute.
Back in MY day we lived on the moon and we had to build a rocket ship from scratch to get to the Earth before we suffocated.
