Control panel art printing
« on: November 06, 2007, 11:22:58 am »
My control panel artwork is going to be placed under Plexiglas.  Is there any difference between what companies like MAME Marquee will produce for me and what my local print shop can do?  I would rather go with a local print shop to save time lost from shipping.  Also, if there is a problem, I will be right there to make sure everything gets corrected.

Well all I have to say is that, I have a very large control panel (4-players) and if I wanted Mame Marquee or kinkos to print it would have been expensive. So I got it printed at work.

It turned out very nice, it was on glossy paper and really looked like it was going to be awesome. However once I got home and placed the plexi over it, I recieved the dreaded "wet look". Not sure how to correct that, if anyone has any ideas let me know.

So in conclusion If you have artwork that looks really nice, you may just want to spend the $$$ on mame marquees, instead of looking for cheap alternatives. But I am new at this so if someone else has a better idea, I would like to know as well.

Since your CP overlay is covered/protected by a plexi. yuo don't need anything really fancy.
A good print on good quality paper should do...

I think were it make a huge difference is on the marquee (backlit)
