Ghosts 'n Goblins two PCB types??
« on: October 30, 2007, 07:21:06 am »
in this manual http://arcarc.xmission.com/PDF_Arcade_Manuals_and_Schematics/Ghost%20and%20Goblins.pdf
I found there are two types of PCBs....does anybody know how they can be identified? Where is the difference?

Heh, just something neat about a manual that mentions Smoke Tests, Baby Diapers, and a Good Night's Sleep.

Try as I might, with the limitations of a workplace connection, the only difference I can tell between Type I and Type II is the absence of Coin 2 and the wire color scheme. I initially thought it might've been a JAMMA vs Non-JAMMA thing, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Try and plug a JAMMA connector on a G'NG and you'll probably blow something up.

If you have the actual PCB on hand, you can do what I did and scavange the net. The only way I could discover the validity of my board (without plugging it in) was to do a search on MAWS for some key model numbers. I couldn't find any matching PCB pics until I came across eBay auctions showing the same board.

One of them has NO VISIBLE TRACES on the board, along with a Taito copyright notice.
