ArcadeVGA (Radeon 7000) and AdvanceMAME, really possible?
« on: May 06, 2003, 05:29:28 pm »
Hi,

I've gotten the ArcadeVGA and AdvanceMAME to work together, but all of the interlaced screens are visually doubled vertically - no good. I've emailed Andy at Ultimarc, and his response was:

"I tried Advanced MAME and yes I did get the same problem. It is the same with a normal Radeon 7000 card as well. I am pretty sure though that I would have notivced this when I originally was testing the ArcadeVGA card to make sure it worked with AdMAME. I have changed a lot of things in the config though, and not sure what has affected it. It might be worth addressing this on the forums as an AdMAME issue with Radeon cards in general."

Has anyone gotten AdvanceMAME to work with AracdeVGA or any other Radeon 7000 card in interlaced modes? 320 x 240 just isn't going to cut it for me for AdvanceMENU, or many AdvanceMAME Games...

Also, If you're thinking of responding with something like: "Why do you want to run AdvanceMAME, you dont need it with ArcadeVGA", I'd suggest you head over to the AdvanceMAME home page and check out the full list of features it has... in short, I'll never go back to regular MAME unless they add most of these features to it. If I can't get AdvanceMAME and AracdeVGA to work in interlaced modes, I think I'll just eBay off the ArcadeVGA, and go back to my ATI Rage card.

All the newer ATI cards (Rage 128 or newer) seem to have this problem.
