anyone here sell stuff on ebay?
« on: October 19, 2007, 10:45:55 pm »

i sold a few things a bit over a year ago. now i cant seem to get it to work. this is the message i get:

You can not submit your listing due to the following problems

    Attention Seller:

In order to maintain a safe trading environment, selling limits are occasionally placed on accounts. When listing this item, the site you are listing on must match your site of registration and the item can only be shipped within the same country. Please go back and make the necessary changes.

To participate in global trade on eBay, please follow the steps below to verify your PayPal account. Once you have a verified PayPal account that is linked to your eBay account, you will be able to sell an item on any of eBay's sites worldwide.

1) To verify your PayPal account, click on your country of eBay registration below to understand how to complete that process.

2) If you already have a verified PayPal account, and are still receiving this message, you need to link it to your eBay account.

For instructions on how to become PayPal Verified or how to link your PayPal account to your eBay account, please click on the site of your eBay registration below:

ive now signed up for the paypal sellers account even though i dont want to sell overseas and dont want people to pay me that way, but it still wont work. i contacted them and i got a 'form' reply:

understand your frustration regarding this matter. Please be aware
that if you registered after January 17, 2007, you must have PayPal on
file and offer it as a payment method in order to sell. For those who
registered before January 17, 2007, PayPal must still be on file,
however, not necessarily offer it as a payment method.

i wonder if maybe im holding my tongue the wrong way or summink?

woulda been embarrassing selling something for the first time in ages and then screwing the buyer around because of lack of access...
hmmm, looks like i had to verify my bank account after they deposited two small amounts of money into it. pity they dont test by depositing two LARGE amounts  ;D

Now that your bank account is attached to paypal, you may want to consider getting a security key.  A friend of mine had recently his paypal password hacked (or figured out or something) and his bank account was emptied, so I figure a $5 one time fee for the added security is worth it.  I just ordered mine a couple days ago and should be getting it in the mail any day now.

Well, for what its worth my friend has a history of lying about stuff like this (don't ask me why), so I'm not 100% convinced he's telling the truth.  I've had my bank account attached to paypal for years and never had a problem, but my friend did point out the security keys to me which just seems like a good idea regardless of whether or not he's telling the truth.
