Hi Andy,

**1** After the "faulty IPAC shipment" bull-story from SlikStik, are you still partnering with them to offer their spinner tops on your SpinTrak spinners ??

**2** Unrelated to SlikStik, but regarding XtraSmiley's post above ...

I saw a thread a while back, that said the Ultimarc rotary encoder produces erratic behaviour in MAME.

Apparently only 1 in every 3 (or so) turns of the rotary knob would be registered during games such as IKARI.

There was talk this was related to the keypress timings (in milliseconds) that the rotary encoder produces.

Has this been fixed by the "updated rotary chip" to which XtraSmiley refers ??

Randy from GGG offers software customisation of the timings produced by his encoder with rotary technology (Roto-X) ...

Andy, do you think there would be a benefit in similarly modifying your rotary encoder, to allow software customisation of the timings ??

As I understand it, that was the reason for and factor behind the development of the updated chip, and the other thrad that you refer to said it worked fine.

XtraSmiley:
I won't be able to test the new chip until January, but according to Andy and others it does fix the problem.

Not sure what the extra benefit of adding adjustable timing would be, but I guess it's a feature some people may want.  As far as I know, Andy's chip does not do that at this time, but again, it should work fine for MAME.

Now, if you do buy a rotary from SS, expect the older non-working chip b/c it seems like that is what they have in stock until they use them all.  Of course I would just order normal sticks and upgrade myself b/c it would be so much cheaper, but hey, live and learn.

To add my tale of woe to those of so many others, I sent back my original CO2 panel to SlikStik on June to have it upgraded to the newer, smaller, panel, and have a few other changes made.  I won't bore you will all of the details of what happened between then and now, because you've heard it a million times already, but on 10/20 I had a phone conversation with Christian and he promised me that the panel would ship within 48 hours and I would have it the following week. Cut to today, still no panel, and they no longer respond to emails.

As per a firm but polite email that I sent earlier in the week informing them that if I didn't hear from them by noon today, I was going to notify the Attorneys General of both my and his state. Of course, I got no response from SS, so I filed the complaints a short while ago.  If I don't hear something from the Attorneys Generals, I'm also planning on taking them to small claims court.

The thing that frustrates me is that I begged them, both on the phone, and in email, to send me something. I said either send me back my old stuff and refund what I paid them, or just throw all the new stuff in a box and I'll install it myself.  They said the hold up was the overlay, so I said forget the overlay.  I told them they could forget anything they didn't have in hand.  Just send me something!!!

Color me frustrated....

I'm a newbie as well.  I really wish I had seen this thread before shelling out my money.  This is my story:

In the spring, I orderd the Classic Unit from slikstik.  My cabinet is a designed with a sports theme regarding my favorite college team.  I really wanted to do a custom overlay as my wife is a graphic designer.  Christian said that would be no problem for my wife to design the overlay, but of course we had to fist purchase the CP.  My wife then designed the CP artwork and sent it to him in July.  Since then, we have had serious problems in communicating with slikstik about our order.  I have sent countless emails and left numerous messages with no responses.  Some of the highlights of our communications:

In an email dated August 21, Paul at slikstik said that they sent the design to the “overlay guy” who was supposed to ship me the proof of the overlay to approve of the printing colors as soon as he made it.

In an email dated August 31, Paul responded that he was surprised we had not received the sample from his overlay guy and that he would call on Monday to check on it.  He said they couldn't do anything on the CP until the overlay is put on.

In an email dated September 6, Paul stated that the overlay guy lost my address and would be sending out the proof shortly.

In an email dated October 2, Paul stated that their printer in Michigan has our graphics.  He stated that they should be sending the proof and that he’ll call the printer again to remind him to send it out.  He finished by saying as soon as we approved the proff they’d finish the unit.

I have left tons of phone messages and sent lots of emails since then and have heard nothing.  I happened to do a google search to see if anyone else was having similar problems and I came upon this thread.  I read the posts and noted that "ScottP" was the overlay guy in Michigan that slikstik told me they were allegedly waiting on.  Of course it appears that it is ScottP who is waiting on his $$ from slikstik.

By the way, the cutom overlay my wife designed really kicks --I'm attempting to get by the auto-censor and should be beaten after I re-read the rules--.  If any of you have any success in resolving your issues, please post what you did.  I'm at wits end.
