Arcade Monitor Identification... (Updated, New Question!)

Hello, all. I am a newb of sorts in the arcade world... however I have been reading pretty much nonstop while beginning this hobby 4 weeks ago. I have reached the Arcade Monitor phase of my plan, and before I go poking around trying to get this thing up and running I want to figure out what I have... This monitor is a 32" beauty from an X-men VS Street fighter cab.

Here are the pics... sorry about the quality. I can post better pics tonight if you guys need.

It's obviously a Wells-Gardner monitor, but it's not one i've seen since I only work on 25" or smaller monitors.

i have seen one like that on a konami gti club so its a medium resolution wg but the exact model i do not know-year around 1998

The fine folks at WG are telling me its a U3000 series monitor. Does that sound right?

Yes, that sounds right since it was manufactured in the larger tube sizes. I've never encountered one. Nor do I want to.

Well, at least the U3000 is supposed to be a much better design than the U5000.  :P

i never experienced any problems with the one i had in the gti club machine.
i am not 100% sure but i think this is either a auto frequency or switchable 15k/25k,the capcom cab would be 15khz for sure and the gti club is 25khz for sure so maybe you have a bit of a bonus

I just wanted to ask a couple more questions... I have had this monitor for a year now... and really it is a very dull monitor (color's aren't very bright or vivid). Also there is a bit of an hour glass shape to it (the picture comes in towards the middle). It never bothered me before, but now I am diving into better emulators that have really nice colors and graphics and aren't quite the same. What do you guys suggest I do to bring this Monitor back?

Capacitor kit is probably needed.

Wells-Gardner parts department has a capkit for this monitor:

S-KIT CAP U30 Capacitor Kit for U3000 monitor.
