Laser Shot Technologies
« on: October 15, 2007, 01:42:59 pm »
This might actually be a legit arcade controls post, but I wasn't sure so I'm posting it in everything else.

I saw this at Cabelas yesterday.

Laser Shot Technologies Home Theater Shooting Simulator

It uses laser-detection camera to figure out where you fired.  At the store they have it set up like an arcade were you pay to play.   It was a real basic control set up.  A box about two feet off the ground and seven feet wide with two coin doors and two rifles attached to the base by a cord. The base contained the projector and it was pointed at a screen about 15 feet away from it.  The base was very light.  I accidentally leaned my shin up against it and it shifted the whole thing so it was off the screen.  It was easy to slide back into place.  One of the sales guys told me the home version comes with a hand gun and you can get simulations that the police use for tactical practice.   The website makes the guns look wireless.  At the time I wasn't paying attention to the rifle at the store so I'm not sure if the cord was there to keep someone from walking off with it or if it was needed to play.

Has anyone seen these?

I was thinking about buying an Extreme Hunting cab, but for the same money I could get one of these.
