I just got back from Toys R Us on my lunch break. I took advantage of their buy-2-get-1-free sale. I got Blue Dragon, Halo 3, and Command & Conquer 3. I wanted a variety.

I'm not in any hurry to open them up since my Xbox 360 is being repaired so I'll leave them in their wrappers and keep the receipts until I'm actually ready to start playing. that way i can alway change my mind and switch them out.

I'm not sold on Halo 3 or C&C 3 yet. I might switch out Halo 3 for the Orange Box. And even though I like all the previous C&C games, but it might be a case of "been there done that".

By the next time I post to this thread, the Xbox 360 should be delivered to the UPS store and on its way for repair.

It's ok.  I just tried the demo (remember there are tons of demos to download).  RTS on console, to me, is really annoying.  The genre is point and click, a mouse and keyboard shortcuts are really needed.
C&C has a good interface considering it is a controller.  Lord of the Rings RTS has a different interface also that is decent.

Well I already played and beat Battle for Middle Earth 2 back before my brother sold his 360. It was a good game, but it sure felt short.

Anybody here have experience with Orange Box yet? I guess this will all sort itself out when I get the 360 back and can start grabbing demos. I've discarded GOW since it sounds too short, but it's still a 3-way tie between Halo 3, Orange Box, and Bioshock.

Back on topic, I've dropped off the 360 at the UPS store and it's on its way.

I have the orange box on PC.  HL2 is awesome.  Portal is short but a lot of fun.  TF2 is ok.

Well the shipping method was listed as "3 day", but it looks like my XBox 360 has already been delivered to the reapir center. I could be back up and gaming in no time flat!

Despite some flaws with Halo 3 its a decent game for the 360 and if you want replay ability id stick with it.  Multiplayer is pretty sweet (unless you dont care for that type of thing) then something to do by yourself would be preferable.

Hopefully in the next few years i can safely buy a 360 and not have to worry about it ever not working and parts failing at some point. The 360 has some great games and great online play but at this point i can't see risking money on a console that has a very good chance to stop working at any point while i have it due to faulty parts

Good luck with all your systems that stopped working and i hope you don't have to go through that again.

They're already making new units with bigger heatsinks and smaller, cooler chipsets. I think it's safe to say the biggest problems are with those hat have already been built, but new models are fine.

Well I got an automated phone call today telling me to expect my Xbox 360 via UPS tomorrow! That's a 10-day turn around. Not bad! That's way quicker than anything I've heard here and elsewhere.

Well they tried to deliver today, but I wasn't home and UPS requires a signature. So I'll be getting it tomorrow instead. No fault of their's, though.
