Monitor with blown fuse
« on: October 12, 2007, 03:47:27 pm »
I need help. I bought a golden tee video arcade system last year it worked for 2 weeks. I cant find anyone to work on it in my area. I discovered that there was a fuse blown. I ordered new ones, put it in, powered up and poof...the fuse blew again. I went through all the fuses I bought and blew them all. I called the local video place and they wont look at it since I didn't buy it from them, tv repair places are rare and the ones I did find want to charge 90 bucks just to tell me IF they can fix the problem. Anyone think they can help me solve this on my own? This is my first machine and am clueless.

First: why did you post this in the FAQ?

Second: What make/model of monitor is it?

Third: where are you located?

if you want to fix this yourself you will need to read all the posts regarding similar problems, you will need to learn how to use a multimeter, you will need to learn the basic operation of a monitor and you will need to learn how to safely conduct yourself whilst working on a monitor.
there are voltages at the very least are extremely painful and possibly fatal
a fuse blowing on power up is probably one of the easiest problems to fix
go learn then return and we can help
like peale said the make/model of a monitor is really important as most monitors have common problems

YOU DON'T WANT TO HURT YOURSELF OR CAUSE MORE DAMAGE

Now, now, Ken; that would require actual work.
