advcfg help
« on: October 12, 2007, 08:00:10 am »
i am having problems with the centering tool of advcfg. i input the monitor specs:

device_video_clock 5-320 / 30-115 / 50-160

i guessed on the pclock minimum value of 5 because it was not mentioned in the manual. i tried values up to 12. what happens is i get screen blanking when i get to the part of centering the screen. it's the same when i select the generic values for pc monitors.

this is on a freshly installed advmame .106 DOS, samsung 1100p plus pc monitor, onboard sis315 vidcard (supported by advmame).

if i use an advmame taken from  another pc i get overscanning (video turns purple, shows 2 screens side by side).

any ideas on how to get started? is there a way to calculate the values for "device_video_format"?

turns out i had a syncing problem and solved everything by changing the video card.
