Tron Restoration
« on: October 10, 2007, 05:43:34 pm »
After getting my hands on a second TRON cabinet, it is now time to restore.  I should always know that 'Only needs a new power supply,' usually means more.  So here is where I am, when powering up the Super CPU blows a resistor at J1 pos 18.  This is +12 V on the schematics and took apart the power block to the power supply with the exact voltages as per the schematic.  The power from supply on seems fine, but the ribbon cables connecting all boards have seen better days.  What I would like to know is what are some possible causes I can rule out.     :banghead:

i found all the answers i needed to fix my tron thru google. a lot of people have documented there projects there, i shouldve done the same. but the final draw to why mine wouldnt fire up was the purple wire.  heres a link, http://members.tripod.com/tonysarcade/tron_restoration.htm , i found helpful and maybe a good place to start for you if you havnt already done so.. he mentions about the power supply, but theres a ton of info searching google too!
