Caps not in regular cap kit

I'm going to replace the rest of the capacitors on my k7000 chasis (trying to fix a 'out of sync when cold' problem).

There are three 25v 10uf caps that were not part of the kit, should be able to find those locally.  There is also a huge cap, 200v 560uf, that nobody seems to have.  The electronics place here said that they couldn't even order it.  Is this something I should pursue, or are these caps more durable?

that sounds like the mains smoothing cap,i would doubt this would cause your fault
you will only get the 560uf cap from a special supplier like this

OK.  I'll leave that one right where it is.

I've done some testing with the other caps, and found this.  If I start the monitor from cold, it takes about 2 minutes for it to stop 'rolling' and for the flyback squeal to go away.  If I point a heat gun at the caps though (on low) -- it will clear up in 4 or 5 seconds.

I'm thinking either those caps are bad or I have bad solder joints.

i think the flyback is not making the sound but in fact i believe its a frequency squeal due to the sinc problem,its sound like a cap problem-have you tried another video source on this monitor yet?

Those three 10 uf @ 25 volt caps are "Bi-Polar". They couple the red-green-blue video signal to the color processing IC. They have nothing to do with sync.

MCM Electronics (www.mcminone.com) has the 560 uf @ 200 volt "snap in mount" capacitor. It's their order (stock) # 31-9245 and sells for $5.12

I didn't see your post before I went at it with the desolderer, after removing the capacitor I found that it doesn't have a 'negative' marking.  Bi-polar.  I put it back in.

What could be on the board that needs to warm up before the display rights itself and the squeal goes away?  I've been aiming the heat gun right near those caps -- must be something in the vicinity.  I can post a pic of the chasis if necessary.

(Detail on the problem: When turned on from cold there is a high-pitched squeal coming from the monitor, not really bad but not normal.  The display shows a 2" white bar near the bottom of the screen, jumping up and down slightly.  As it warms up, the display begins to fill the screen, then it just looks like it is out of sync.  Then all the sudden it rights itself, looks great, and stays that way.)

I just noticed on Bob Robert's parts page that he has a " 560uf200v B+ filter" cap for $4.00...

Thanks for looking that up, but from Ken's post I may not need to replace that one.  Hopefully one of the mointor guru's can chime in here.

One of those integrated circuits is probably going heat sensitive and may need to be replaced.

I think these are the three ICs on the chasis (this is from the manual, haven't verified with my specific chasis yet) UPC1397C, LA7823, UPC1378.

Of those three, I'm thinking its the UPC1378 (Vertical deflection).  I'll check Bob Roberts for the part.
