Bought a new car last month.....

I frikking love it. With the back seats down, I have enough space for a cabinet to slide in on it's side.

give it time....when we first got our Lexus SUV (RX300) the wife was ADAMANT about nothing dirty going in the back. Now I take it to the dump, go get lumber, sacks of bark/dirt/etc all the time. I DO put a tarp down in the back, but for the most part, it's just an SUV.

I do get funny looks when I roll up to the lumber yard in a luxury SUV....

You can definitely move cabs in much smaller cars, too... I've moved big Atari cabs in a Legacy and just moved a Tempest in an Elantra hatchback.

I saw a Subaru Brat with a Pacman in the back the other day.

We've already had the "Cabinet in the new car" discussion.....shardian hit the nail right on the head.....plastic!

This is the first brand new car I've ever owned....had 34 miles on it when I rolled off the lot.

Yeah . . . doesn't that 34 miles bug? I ordered mine directly from the factory. No other potential customers had ever even taken it for a test-drive. But it still had 12 miles on it. The dealership takes all their cars out to make sure everything's working on it. How great would it be to get to watch the odometer click up from 000000 to 000001. Is that too much to ask for something that costs $35,000? I think they ought to work like Circuit City. There should be a floor model that people can test out, but you get the boxed unit that's never been used. And when they finally decide to pull the model off the floor, some lucky bastard will get to buy it for $27,000.

My most recent car was a direct factory order and it still had 6 miles on it....still, was cool watching it tick up from there

Well, most places around here drive their cars from the port when they come off....since we are so close. The dealer we bought it from is about 30 miles from the port, and the rest was our test drive.

We test drove one from the lot, and then because of the color took an untouched one from the storage area, 6 miles. I think we test drove about 15 so we were definitely ahead of the game.

unfortunately, they are driven out of the factory so i bet if all they did was drive it onto a truck and then unload it at a dealer in the same town you would still have 1/2 mile or so on it...
