light gun on a plasma
« on: October 06, 2007, 03:17:59 pm »
Hey, I was just ordering this old lightgun for my phillips cd-i and was wondering if it works on a plasma tv, I guess I don't know what the technology in the lightgun is if it required a tubed tv to work ? I assume not since Wii has a lightgun coming out and most people have flat panels but thought id make sure cause its not very cheap.

no it wont work. the wii uses a led bar for the guns so the type of TV doesnt matter (in fact you can technically play wii with the TV off)

Eventually someones going to make a GOOD light gun that works on lcd/plasma, I didn't know that nintendo is already working on a light gun for wii, I knew it was only a matter of time. - I wonder how they'll utilize the leds since they're built into the console? If they come up with some contraption you have to mount to the monitor I'll be extremely disappointed, I'm sure nintendo will do it right tho.

the light gun for the wii is just a contoller addon, you clip the holster onto the Wii-mote

there is, it is called the LCD Top Gun. works great on any tv or PC Monitor. actually it sounds like it works exactly like the wii mote, or i should say that the wii mote works like it, as it was out first!
