Project Announcement: SOLOCADE
« on: September 14, 2007, 10:23:14 am »
Hi, I just wanted to introduce my arcade cabinet which I completed this year:  Solocade

I am putting together a website which documents the process:  http://solocade.googlepages.com/

It is a cabinet for one person, hence Solocade, and has a built-in cup holder on the control panel!

This website and the members have helped me a lot with the inspiration and troubleshooting, which I am eternally grateful!  ;D

Here is the finished pjoject:

Nice.  That's one OCD clean garage you got there (insert hint of envy).  Neat idea with the coin door pullout shelf.  Excited to see control panel finish out documentation.

Way to sneak one in there on us ;)  You're friends with Apollo, right?   :laugh2:

Thanks, I believe it is actually my garage floor that makes it appear clean...I sealed it with epoxy which was another fun project!!!  ;D

I wasn't sure if I was supposed to post and document my progress as I go...but even now it is (and probably always be) a work in progress. I am planning to make the cup holder bigger to fit larger drinks and I'm having a connection problem with the Ultimarc joystick which I need to correct.

I will be updating my website and will be posting updates here as well!  :D

I made some updates and finished out the start to finish documentation. Grab a cold one...it is a long read at 100 pages.  ;D

Here are a couple of construction pics:

Nice clean looking cab.  It is good to see LCDs in use as they make the cab much easier to put where space or tolerance is limited.
