Connecting with DVI and VGA?
« on: August 31, 2007, 01:51:52 pm »
While this is not arcade Monitor / Video related, it is Monitor / Video related.

I just got a widescreen monitor for the first time and I'm trying to play a fullscreen 4:3 game on it.  While connected via DVI this monitor does not allow adjustment to the size and position of the video being fed to it.

So, is there some way of making a fullscreen 4:3 game (like Diablo II) display with black bars on the sides or is it possible to connect the monitor with both the VGA and DVI connectors and switch between the two when I need size and position adjustability?
If there's bees in the trap I'm catching em
By the thorax and abdomen
And sanding the stingers down to a rough quill
Then I dip em in ink, and I scribble a bit
But if it they wriggle then I tickle em until they hold still
Lemme say it again
In my land of pretend
I use bees as a mf'n pen

I hate it when I go and ask a question only to figure it out myself...  No wait, actually it's kinda cool that I figured it out on my own!

So, what I did was updated my video card driver which added an option to enforce aspect ratio while stretching to the Nvidia control panel.
