The reviews are all pretty similar to one another, which is a bad sign. If you've got diffferent reviews all picking on different parts of the movie, then there's usually a chance you'll find something moderately likable in the movie.
Reviewer's chief complaints:
-Total removal of suspense from the "gore"
-Mysogynistic killings (guys are killed quickly, the girls are tortured over a longer period, while naked, after having sex)
-Unnecessary backstory (Michael is Evil, that's all there is to it, there should be no reason for you to sympathize with him or understand why he does what he does)
-More "Friday the 13th" than "Halloween"
This is pretty much across the board, from those who loved or hated Zombie's other work, and those who loved or hated the original. I think it'll do decent enough box office, just from the curiousity standpoint, but I don't think it's got enough to become a classic remake in the way that Dawn of the Dead or Texas Chainsaw Massacre did.
