Horizontal Lines at top 1 inch of WG K7500 Monitor
« on: August 26, 2007, 10:58:46 pm »
I have a Golden Tee Complete that has the above problem (Pictures included).  I included pictures of the problem as well as of the monitor as I don't know if it is the original monitor.  The lines show up consistently regardless of color (except when the screen is black).  I do also notice faint bottom to top rolling waves but not consistently.  I did have an earlier problem with the monitor in which the picture was horribly wavy and unplayable but a person came and took the boards and fixed it (installed new capacitors, etc).  No problems after that until now which has been roughly 6-8 months.  I appreciate any help and guidance that you can provide!

Thank you,
Scott

You have a K7500.

Looks to be a minor sync issue.  If this were a K7000 I'd tell you to adjust your 50/60Hz pot.

You said that it had this problem before and some capacitors cleared it up. It looks to me like it needs this service again. Does the cabinet get pretty hot? I've noticed that when my Nintendo Sanyo monitors do this it is due to a couple medium size capacitors near the flyback that start leaking.

Looks like a minor vertical foldover issue to me.

Can you adjust the vertical height? (make the picture smaller/shorter)

ncflagg,
It had a problem before but not one similar to this.  I just wanted to mention the monitor's history.

Kevin,
I will try to adjust the vertical height and see what happens.

Both,
I do appreciate the help!

Replace C 610  2.2uf  @50v
and       C 613  100uf @50v
Both are located right in front of the U601 vertical IC at the right edge of the board.

I just fixed this exact problem on a K7500 today, it looked just like your top pic with retrace lines at the top of the screen only.

a faulty output ic can also cause this.
have also seen problems with the boost diode connected to that 100uF cap. ;)
