USB to console
« on: August 23, 2007, 06:46:19 pm »
Just bought a x-arcade control panel and want to use it on some consoles too.  I know they offer adaptors but they cost to much.  Is there another solution.  Do they make usb to console adaptors?

You might be able to get by with a PS/2 to console adapter from Ultimarc to work, if they have the same keyboard button layout, but they cost more than the proper adapters.

-- Just buy one Console adapter and then connect a cheap ($6) secondary converter (like a Playstation to Gamecube / Xbox converter) for other systems.  ... that's twelve bucks if you need both players - about $32 plus tax shipping or whatever total...$11 per console.

p.s. get a job!     J/K

I can tell if you add a six foot extension cable on some consoles. Increasing the X-Arcade to two stages of packet repackaging? The delay on that has got to be noticeable at that point.

Exactly.  I should not suggest this over the official connectors.  In fact, to eliminate this lag entirely, controllers hacked directly to buttons and joysticks are still the best.
