Does this monitor look OK?
« on: August 21, 2007, 12:28:43 pm »
I just got the monitor working with my ArcadeVGA board, and am wondering what I should expect for brightness, sharpness, etc.  Here's a couple pictures, I think the monitor is too dark (the brightness control is already maxed out).  I've adjusted the screen and focus as best I can also.

I'm thinking it needs to be degaussed too, I'm having convergence issues on the bottom 1/3 of the screen.  Hopefully these pics have enough detail, if not, I can try and frame some better ones.

Thanks!

That actually looks like a decent picture.

When was this monitor capped last?

Most arcade monitor have a tiny amount of convergence issue.  It's usually not that big of a deal.  Not something you can degauss.

No idea what service it has received, judging by the dust on the chasis I'd say not much.

Is capping something I can do with some general eletronics knowledge?  I am not up to speed on CRTs.
