Its snowing in my arcade monitor.
« on: August 18, 2007, 02:33:52 am »
I recently bought a working arcade cabinet with a 25" monitor and a 1 slot MVS. It appears to be a conversion. The monitor is marked Zenith.

I noticed that after warming up, I get weird white noise on black backgrounds. Its not too bad but Its a bit of an annoyance.

I thought it was some kind of interference from the marquee light, but it uses incandescent bulbs.

This problem is accompanied by a soft buzzing sound emanating from the back of the monitor. None of the caps are obviously bulged or leaking, and I checked for sparks on the flyback.

Could this be fixed by something as simple as adding a ferrite to the RGB input, or does this seem more like a problem with the monitor?

Thanks in advance.

Now install a capkit in the monitor. If problem persists, then also recap the gameboard power supply.
