are the dramcast VMU ports 2 sata connectors or no?

I am building a dreamcast to arcade control box made from dreamcast pcbs wires and a radio shack project box and I can squeeze the 2 pcbs in it but barely.

The problem is it is a tight fit and I was wondering if the dreamcast vmu ports are sata connectors and if so I could hook a few up and move the actual vmu's away from the pcbs for a better fit.

anybody tried it or know if they are sata connectors or not?

I think I'm reading your question wrong. Do you mean physically the same as the SATA?

Seeing as SATA was created in 2003 and the Dreamcast was released in 1999... it'd be kind of hard for it to be a SATA port.

I had no clue when sata came out because I never owned anything sata wise.

I got pc card awhile back but never had a use for it either becuase I have no sata stuff to hook to it.

I could have guessed that, and you are right that they look somewhat similar.  SATA is definitely too new to have been in the DC though.

Glad you got everything in the box you had though.
