ARCADEVGA JPAC2 TROUBLES??
« on: September 17, 2007, 11:45:39 pm »
hello all, well ive just recieved my arcadevga pci version2 and my jpac2 from andy at ultimarc.com.. well i installed both components into my deticated killer instinct2 arcade cabinet, at first i couldn't get a picture but then i only installed the arcade monitor plug by itself and it worked,, now what i dont understand is why my games run slower on my arcade monitor than on my actual computer monitor, on my computer monitor they run 100%, and on arcade monitor they fluctuate all the way down to 85%... also cant get a full screen on my arcade monitor, any help would be appriciated,, looked around but no luck!!!let mek now if you need pics..thanks all

Sounds like you don't have the resolutions configured for the AVGA/arcade monitor + MAME yet?  Have you tried running a res tool or manually setting them according to the instructions on ultimarc's website?  What resolutions were you running 100% with on the PC monitor that are only 85% on the arcade monitor?

You may want to try MAME32 if only to get the resolutions setup with its graphical user interface (as opposed to editing ini files or dealing with command line parameters).

Check out this page which has instructions for both MAME and MAME32:

There are tools around to set resolutions for all games.  Here is one of them (I've never used it though):
http://mamewah.mameworld.net/downloads.htm
Pay attention to the part about versions over 0.107 though.

EDIT: actually, check out http://ultimarc.com/avgainst.html again in more detail.  Toward the bottom, there is a "Auto-Resolution Utilties" section that has what you want.
