JPAC not showing red....
« on: August 12, 2007, 05:25:13 pm »
I just tried hooking up my JPAC to a couple of arcade cabinets.  Both these cabinets normally show all colors perfectly when hooked up to their respective game PCBs (one is a Megalo 410 running MVS, the other is a Dynamo 25" running SFA3), but using Soft15khz and the JPAC, I'm not getting any red coming through.  I tested pin 12 on the parts side, and I do get 4.97V coming through there.  Is there something I'm missing or do I have a bad JPAC?

Thanks.

You very well could, esp if you're hooking up a board and getting red, then hooking up the J-PAC and losing it.

Yup, that's exactly what's happening.

But actually, I'm not getting 5v off the red, I got the wrong pin.  I went 12 in from the 28 pin.  It's 2.1V off the real red pin.  Not sure what's "normal" there, but I e-mailed that info to Andy to see if he could help.

Pretty frustrating.  Finally found some time to work on it and it doesn't quite work.    :banghead:

BTW - as you might expect, Andy sent me a new J-Pac.  Works great now.   ;D
