Here is a brief summary of my experiences with matlab:

MathCad was my best friend though, but that doesn't help you much.

Ive used Matlab but only for fitting XPS Spectra.
Experience is directly proportional to equipment ruined

I learned matlab long enough to pass the couple of classes I had to take on it, but I've forgot pretty much everything since then.
