South Park Pinball!
« on: July 30, 2007, 01:04:09 pm »
I picked up a new South Park pinball machine the other day.  It used to be Matthew Perry's(The dude from "Friends").  When he got bored and moved out of his 12 million dollar house in Beverly Hills, he left it there for the new owner.  The new owner is the producer of the Saw films.  The guy was really cool.  He even gave me a ride around the neighborhood in his Mercedes Mclaren SLR.  F'ing $500,000, 200mph car!

The South Park is a 9.5 out 10 condition wise.  Less than 300 plays.  Fun as hell.

I fear the revelation of what he does between gigs.

I got a pretty good deal on it.

My hobby has to stop now though.  I have reached critical mass.  I live in a two bedroom condo and I have the South Park, Star Wars, Baby Pac-Man, Rally-X mame, and Q*bert.  If I ever talked a woman to coming back to my place she would leave screaming.  It's just too much.  My dining room is now my game room.

I'll take that old and moldy Star Wars from you. Not only will you gain valuable space, but you'll drastically lower the average play count on you pins!

None of the Star Wars pins play very well... South Park is probably a better game, it pains me to say.

Considering it's condition, I don't see how you could have gotten too much of a deal. $1500 for a beater from a route is the going rate on that pin.

Yeah, I don't really like the SW pin either. South Park is one of my wife's favorites, and she would definitely let it in the house.

Any HUO DMD pin with only 300 plays is $2500+.  This one is probably $3000.

Exactly, so what kind of deal could you possibly have gotten? :dunno

I paid $1000 for it. Plus another $100 to have some goon off of craigslist haul it for me so $1100 total.  I don't know if I could get $3000 for it but I'm sure $2000+ isn't out of the realm.  It's so clean it's ridiculous.

Star Wars is a great game!  I don't know what you guys are talking about.  The one I have(Data East) is the best of all the SW pins.  Really fun.  South Park is fun but it is a LOT easier than the Star Wars pin.

I just ordered the prototype "profanity" roms for the South Park.  That should up the fun level a notch or two :)

Doesn't sound like the guy he bought it from is hurting for money.  He's probably just happy to have gotten rid of it easily.

I love those type of people, but they are hard to come by.
I bought a double din deck for my tracker that retailed for $1200 off a spoiled rich kid for $100. After we bought our house, we happened upon some rich lady who had decided to have her first and only rummage sale of her life. We got a Rainbow vacuum in like new condition with all accessories for $25. 8)  Now the only goal I have is a deal like Craigs to get a pin.
