Component Video Adapter Questions
« on: July 30, 2007, 10:01:03 am »
I notice that a lot of people on this board are using "DVI to Component Adapters" to output to their TVs.  My graphics card (ASUS AX800 Pro) has a "component out" adapter for the "TV Out" port on the card.  Is the quanlity any different using this option as opposed to the "DVI to Component" adapter or is everyone just using that method because their cards do not support "Component Out" from the "TV Out option"?

I believe that DVI to component cables only work for cards that support them (ie can do component out via a DVI connector). If your card does component via its own connector, then I assume that it does this instead of being able to do component via a DVI cable.

I would imagine the quality through your dedicated cable would be the same as a card that does DVI to component. That being said, if your TV has a DVI cable already on it, then you could go DVI to DVI!
