monitor colour problem

ive just mounted my arcade monitor in my cocktail cab, when the monitor is flat the colours are perfect, but when i shut it up and the monitor is mounted vertically the colours go all funny. the monitor also shakes now witch it never before when i first turned it on

fixed the colour problem, my speaker wasn't magnetically shielded. but i still can't get it to stop shaking

Is it near the power supply?  Or a fan?

Seriously, check all connectors etc since you've moved it. Might be a broken solder joint on the chassis.

its running from my pc power supply and thats underneath it. it still shakes when the monitor is out the cab. is there any good software to use to get the correct frequency and res

ive tried moving everything inside the cab (psu, hard drive, fans), but it still makes no diffierence. the screen still shakes. i know the monitor is working fine. it didnt shake when i 1st installed it either.i really want this in my cab. i dont fancy putting a lcd monitor in it.

recap mate,does it shake or have a wave effect,does it do it all the time or only at start up

its waves all the time. it never done it the first time i turned it on. whats a recap. it was working when i brought the monitor.

ive tried the monitor inside and outside the cab but it still waves. ive moved everything around inside the cab but it makes no difference. i havent took the speaker out yet but it does not effect the colour if it not on any way. im gunna try that next. i think it is something to do with the settings because it never waved when i first plugged it in, it worked fine. whats the best refresh rate to use. is there any good programs to use to set the monitor up.

I am not even close to an expert at this, so take this with a LARGE grain of salt.

I had a monitor that had the shakes (only on the upper half of the picture).  Turned out that the B+ voltage was incorrect.  I didn't fix it, someone else did, so I can't even start to suggest how to check it.

bloody mame stuff eh!,yes sounds like some kind of frequency issue down to your setup

the monitor shakes in windows aswell not just mame. ive set it so it runs at 60hz but i think when i first set it up it was running at 70. i dont like messing with it incase i blow the monitor. is the power supply good enough to run the monitor. its just a standard pc one.

what monitor are you running,standard vga pc or 15k arcade?

its a arcade monitor, but it connects threw a vga plug.

yep does sound a resolution issue,best to ask other people their setups as it sounds like you are using software to output the cga frequency rather than an arcade vga card

yeah im using the onboard video from the motherboard. i thought it would be ok, didnt see the point of buying a arcadevga card if i didnt need one. i only want this cab to play pacman and galaga. ill have to post a new topic to see what other people are using
