Does this happen when the picture gets brighter?  Say when there's more being drawn on the screen at once?

its more of a constant breathing in-out , i know what you mean
about bright colours enlarging the picture but
it is happening all the time, a small ,sort of vibration in the picture,
its not moving a massive amount just a bit, its kind of like the picture moving in-out just slightly all the time.

Sounds like an oscillating magnetic field.  Is there a fan near it?

it is in a cocktail cabinet , to the left of the monitor is a fan, as in most cocktail cabinets,
also it was recently transported to my house and it was ok before the journey,
i live in uk, sheffield and there are road humps all over the place, so maybe this hasnt helped ,
the guy who i bought it off said it was fine before transporting it to me( but maybe didnt notice!)
The cabinet is moon cresta, i was thinking of replacing the monitor anyway but the colours look really nice on this monitor, so if i can fix the picture ,i'll keep it

ive not tried that but i will,
the cab is at my house and im not there
at the moment, the picture does seem very stable apart
from the slight picture movement,
maybe its due for a cap kit( gulp!)
