k7000 chassis cap question
« on: July 20, 2007, 03:19:18 pm »
ok i've got a k7000 chassis that i'm repairing (got it used, new flyback, regulator, etc.)  and i'm getting a hold of all the caps that are missing and theres two labeled spots on the chassis for a C66 and a C69 but the manual i've got for it (and the web) don't have any information on them so i figured i'd ask about them and see if anyone here either knew what values they should be or if they're even supposed to be there, anyone have any idea?  just want to make sure that i either don't need them or what they should be before i finish and fire it up and damage something

You can generally look at the solder pads on the bottom side of the chassis to tell if they were ever there before.
If the pad is clean and flat, it probably hasn't been touched before, meaning there never was a cap. (goes for any kind of component really)
Not a technician . . . . just a DIY'er.
