Monitor Chassis ID Help
« on: July 17, 2007, 01:54:21 pm »
Yes,  I know this is a REALLY bad photo,  but it's hard to get up in the cabinet to take a good one.  This is in an OUTRUN cabinet.  Can anyone ID the monitor chassis?  Also,  if you can,  do you think the Chassis is compatible with the tube attached the WG in the 2nd photo?

Second one is a K7000.  First one I'm pretty sure isn't a WG.

The first one has been identified by someone as a WG 4900?   Anyone know if the tubes between these two chassis is compatible?

Now I am starting to doubt this is a WG4900.  It doesn't appear to match the picture on Bob Roberts page and I am able to get an eyeball in there enough to see "SHARP" on the frame.  I checked the Sharp Chassis and and "SI" chassis on Bob's page and didn't see a match either.

I simply need to remove this monitor.

Definitely not a K4900.

Here are some updated photos.  The monitor frame says "Made exclusively for Sharp Image, Inc" and gives and address.  I can not find a model number on anything aside from the tube.

This first picture shows the front of the chassis.  The red circle shows some strange component I have never seen on a chassis before.  It is "hourglass" shaped?

Also take note of the pot to the left of the width coil.  I have no idea what this pot is for but it is one of three on the board that is separate from the 6 on the front of the board.

This next photo is of the right side of the board.  The top circled component is a 2-position switch.  I assume it is to switch it in to service mode?  The second circle below it shows a pot that is labeled "bright".  Note that there is also a bright pot at the front of the board.

This last photo is of the left side of the board.  I apologize for the crap quality of the shot...I tried to make it as clear as possible with photo shop.   The area circled in red this time is another pot.  Again,  I am not sure what this one does.  I assume one of the two pots I am unsure of the function of is for B+ voltage,  but I am not sure what the other would be for.

If you know what this monitor chassis is...please speak up!

Thanks!

JOMEC IS BACK!  Nice.  I tried last night and it was down.

It DOES look like that one...A LOT.  I think that might be it.   THANKS!

Now to find some info on this chassis.  I would like to swap tubes with a WG 7000 I have sitting here with less burn-in,  but I am not sure if it is compatible.

Anyone want to point me to a tutorial on how to determine a tubes resistance?

Pin count and size are the same though I do believe...will double check pinout.

I've never checked anything for resistance.  I am going to have to put my red lead on my multimeter in to the other "port" right?

black lead to common and red lead to ohms, set the dial to ohms and read the blue to red and the green to yellow, write down the readings for each yoke and then compare
