Does Atomic FE have LCD support?
« on: July 13, 2007, 05:24:15 am »
It's been about a year since I setup my FE and I've been taking a look around at what's available these days. Before I get too far into working with it, does anyone know if Atomic has LCD support, so I can use my Beta Brite? And if it doesn't (well, and even if it does, I guess), are there any FEs that support LCDs other than Mamewah?

Hi,

If you talk about build-in native support , not.

But with configuration effort , you can use it with Atomic. (it should be similar with what need to bes done for mamewah i guess)

When i will have time, i will do a plugin for it to facilitate the work.

Can you give me some pointers on what I would need to do to do as far as configuration? I'm a quick study, just need a point in the right direction.

I really like Atomic FE, but without the Beta Brite, it just can't happen.

You can use the Beta Brite on any FE. Like Youki said you can use it with Atomic FE you just have to add command line's to send it the ROM name before you launch a game.

Mala and GameEx have Beta Brite plugins specifically written to support Beta Brite.

So basically chose the FE you like and use the method appropriate for the FE. GameEx has the plugin included with the official release, Mala has it to download on the link Loadman gave you, and you can read about getting it to work with Atomic on this thread. You could also use the same method provided on that link with any FE, as all FE's support launching applications before a game (eg. MameWah).
