50' Projection Screen Repair?
« on: July 13, 2007, 04:25:30 am »
Hey guys,

My neighbor has a Giant, 50" Mitsubishi Projection Screen TV he said I could have because he knows I love to tinker around w/ Arcade projects and what not.

The picture is really distorted and fuzzy as the TV is about 8 or 9 years old. Does Anybody have an idea how much it costs to fix these and/or what's involved in it? I know to have it serviced it's going to be insane..

Just wondering if it's worth taking

Thanks,    - Joe

worth taking?!? if it is free, play around with it, if not i wouldn't pay anything for it...

as my Professor in my electronics class used to love saying , try cleaning it, more then half the time it will fix your problems. if you cant get it running just push it out to the curb and put a "free" sign on it, someone will take it (i have got rid of 2 broken TVs that way)

worse thing that can happen is that you don't know what your doing touch the wrong thing a die horribly when 50,000 volts goes through you body!

when you say distorted do you mean the convergence is out e.g red, blue and green seem to be in different places
does the picture have a misty effect
