..but I can't figure out what it is!

I had everything running using a VGA computer monitor and an Nvidia TI 4600.  I changed the resolution to 800x600, color depth 32.

Then I swapped out the Nvidia for the ArcadeVGA card.  Following Andy's instructions, I connected a flat panel LCD monitor to the DVI port and my new Betson to the VGA port to make sure I'd get at least one signal I can use.

On boot, I get a quick flash of the dos screen on the Betson and the Dell startup screen on the LCD panel, but when it starts to boot into windows, both monitors give me a "no signal detected, check cable" message.  Whatever is going on, I'm not even certain the arcadeVGA lets the computer finish its booting, as I have VNC on the box, but can't get to it over the network either.

Swapping out the ArcadeVGA for the Nvidia restores it to working again.

Any ideas?

Perhaps you can/should only have one connected at once...

Maybe try lowering the resolution and just using the betson...

Contact Andy, I'm sure he'll help... (better than anyone else can)

Good luck,
Rick

Unfortunately, XP doesn't go below 800x600, but that should be supported by the betson.  Using one monitor or two makes no difference...

Which ArcadeVGA do you have?
The PCI Express version or AGP version?

I also have the Betson + the PCI Express version of the ArcadeVGA.
Things "just worked" for me.

I have no idea if this is your problem or not, but make SURE you set Windows to 800x600 before booting into Windows.
If its set to go higher, you will go out of range on the Betson, and I believe will cause what you are seeing.

I don't recall my exact install procedure, but I pretty much followed these 2 guides to a "T":

(The monitor link probably helped me the most)

Actually, you can.

You'll want to set your Windows resolution to 640x480. To do this, you need to do the following:

Right Click on Desktop --> Properties --> Settings --> Advanced --> Adapter --> List all modes --> 640x480 True Color (32 bit) 60 Hertz --> Apply --> OK

Unfortunately, I can't set the refresh freq.  I deleted the Nvidia card's driver, so it's using the default as well as the default monitor which has, of course, a default refresh rate.  I can understand that if the resolution or refresh is out of range on the Betson, the system will respond the way it does, but I don't understand why the LCD panel on the DVI port would be affected as well.

It's current set to 640x480x32, default refresh.

Oh, sorry, I didn't mean to specify a refresh rate. I copied that from a reply I gave somebody about setting things up for a TV. Still, it works for getting the correct resolution.
