Screenshots.....What's the Deal!!!
« on: July 05, 2007, 08:40:30 am »
I have sets of Console games(Good Tools Certified) and sets of Snaps from the screenshot archive.  However it seems that about 1 of every ten Nin/Genesis/SuperNin game has a screenshot when I go through my gamelist.  I know that there are more Screenshots than that in the Dirs so that leaves the fact that the names don't corispond.  Does anyone know a way to quickly get the names of Screenshots and games to Jive other than renaming by hand???

Also is there an emulator or program that can, with a push of a button, create a Screenshot for a game with the correct name that will corespond with the game it came from so as to show up in MALA as a snap in the Gamelist? Or close enough to be easily renamed with another program EX.  pacman.zip to pacman[01].png, then I could just tell a program to take away all [ ]'s in the list.

I fear the answer is no................................... :'(

Probably not, but that just means now you have the chance to be the first one to write one.  :)

Chunce, unless you can store the different screenshots for each emulator in a different directory, you're bound to end up with file name clashes. And yes, my PowerGamer launcher can take a screenshot and paste it in the correct emulator directory and name it the same as the rom name. The only problem is it is stored as a bitmap which is much larger than a png or jpg file. I haven't gotten around to seeing if I can convert the image to a compressed image yet.

I do have snaps in different folders for all the different emu's.  I'm going to try a Re-namer and see what happens.  Hopefully it will work.

Used the renamer on some NES and it appears that the condensed USA list I made has almost every game with a snap,  Hats off to Howard_Casto!!!!  Going to try Genesis today, later

Here the deal,  the best way to get screenshots for everything is to cut down on your roms and get rid of the useless crap,  use windows search to find everything with [!],  erase everything else, download snaps from screenshot archive, most everything is there.
